Please understand that personal coaching does not treat mental disorders as defined by the American Psychiatric Association. Personal coaching is not a substitute for counseling, psychotherapy, psychoanalysis, clinical mental health care, or substance abuse treatment and should not replace such therapy. If topics arise that the client or Coach believes would be best served by the client seeing a mental health professional, an appropriate referral will be made. If the client is under the care of a mental health professional, they should consult with him/her regarding the advisability of working with a coach and will let them know of their decision to proceed with the coaching relationship.
